This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 It is all gross。 I have tried several recipes out of this book and so far none of them have come out edible their concept of seasoning is atrocious, their idea of fresh really means canned。 It is like they did not even taste test any of their recipes。 The ideas they have are good but nothing of note。

It’s funny that I’m actually buying this book, because of the supposed ‘low ratings’。 The ‘low ratings’ are rated based on many’s irrelevant, lack of understanding of how a Plant-Based (or Raw Whole Foods) diet works。1) Health food taste nothing like the standard American diet (which includes an average of 100lbs of sugar per year and 50% more salt than a human body should be forced to intake)。 So, yes, the food will taste different if you are eating unhealthy fast food, unnecessary fried foods, It’s funny that I’m actually buying this book, because of the supposed ‘low ratings’。 The ‘low ratings’ are rated based on many’s irrelevant, lack of understanding of how a Plant-Based (or Raw Whole Foods) diet works。1) Health food taste nothing like the standard American diet (which includes an average of 100lbs of sugar per year and 50% more salt than a human body should be forced to intake)。 So, yes, the food will taste different if you are eating unhealthy fast food, unnecessary fried foods, processed candy bars and the likes。 ➕Just what I’m looking for; a healthy cookbook that doesn’t taste like Americanized garbage to my pallet。 Since I haven’t eaten anything related to the ‘standard American diet’ for a long time, fresh food taste wonderful to me now。 (Mind you, at first I wasn’t particularly interested in veggies etc, but my taste buds changed so quickly I gave away the rest of the meat in my freezer after just 1 month eating meat free。)2) Yes, a healthy RAW (or Plant-Based) diet requires a whole new step。。。 you actually have to PROCESS your very own substance in order to avoid the extra unhealthy ingredients consumer food products contain。 (And yes, healthy plant-based nutrition will often recommended additional ingredients in order to provide an actually nutritious meal。) Don’t buy a plant based food book if you’re unwilling to spend the time following through on what it takes to improve your diet and health。 ➕I don’t expect processing my own raw food to take less time, energy nor equipment than it takes just cooking consumer food products that contain known, unhealthy ingredients。3) Maybe I’m the only one but I prefer to pay for words not a picture book so ➕ (Not sure how imaginations are suddenly lost on only cookbooks。 I personally do get lost trying to imagine unrealistic fiction, but no problem imagining facts。) 。。。more

We were looking for more variety in our diet and came across Forks Over Knives。 I would think this cookbook would be essential for vegans or wanna-be vegans。 It opens up the exciting world of plant based eating。 We are not vegans, but sure do appreciate the variety of new-to-us recipes in thus cookbook。

Ok I haven’t really read this whole book but it’s not that kind of book。 Recipes are really good and doable without too many weird ingredients。

I return to this book from time to time, reiterating this important message for myself; plant food is superior to the standard American diet。I use quite a few of the recipes for both myself, as a diabetic, and for my family。 Thankfully the recipes included are generally quick, flavourful, and require no specialty ingredients。 I do tweak the vast majority of recipes to suit a low carb diet (again, I’m diabetic), so those wanting low carb plant based recipes should be confident in the kitchen, or I return to this book from time to time, reiterating this important message for myself; plant food is superior to the standard American diet。I use quite a few of the recipes for both myself, as a diabetic, and for my family。 Thankfully the recipes included are generally quick, flavourful, and require no specialty ingredients。 I do tweak the vast majority of recipes to suit a low carb diet (again, I’m diabetic), so those wanting low carb plant based recipes should be confident in the kitchen, or willing to play around with the ingredient lists。It should be noted that this is a plant-based diet recipe book, not an ethical vegan book。 The main focus is on better health, tho all recipes are suitable for all vegans。 。。。more

As a Vegan of some 35 years I found the book to be pretty good。 Given that we humans consume and internalize content best using multiple senses, I woul have appreciated a few recipe photos to visually show what is possible, but still a solid plant-based cookbook。
